Titles and title fonts: The titles are written in a curly styled writing a lot like fancy handwriting. It looks quite girly and young. This relates to the theme of the movie as in the opening the main character is shown as being quite young and impressionable and this relates to the opening credits. Later on in the movie she matures. The name of the film sounds like a list. It could list the things the main character feels is important to the movie or her life at the time.
Set: the setting for this film portrays quite vibrant colours and is quite clean. This gives an idealistic view of a British community and her life. In the opening we see the main character running around the city/town to let the audience get a feel for where she lives and to spot any landmarks which appear later in the film which may be important. The scenes are shot at a variety of angles to show the different points of interest of this town and to contrast with what the main character is doing as in the scene she is trying to run away from it all and we question why she would want to run away from somewhere which looks as nice as this.
Costume: the main character is dressed in an "Olive" suit. This tells us that she is more concerned about having fun than about practicality or consequences. The costume also tells us that she might feel a bit self conscious as all the other characters in the scene at the costume party are wearing quite sexy costumes whilst she might see herself, or want the audience to see her, as being unable to "pull this off" and so she comes in a big bulky costume to hide herself. The costume is quite vibrant and colourful, this makes her stand out which maybe what she wants during the film.
Music: The music playing in the background is "She's so Lovely" by Scouting for Girls. This is ironic as to how she feels about herself at the moment, as she has just run away from a costume party as she feels she looks idiotic. The song could also relate to how others see her as she could feel like a fool but others see her beauty.
Character: The main character is a girl called Georgia who is going through a difficult time where she is finding love and also growing up. The audience might want to know why in the opening she is so willing to make a fool of herself in front of everyone but then backs out of it when her friends do not approve, as she could be seen at the beginning as a free spirit who does not care what others think of her so you wonder if she is portraying a different personality to her real self. She also in the opening is shown to have quite a determined attitude as when talking to her father she tells him that he is not needed when in the end she ends up needing him for consoling as she is upset. The way she is shown visually is that she has little concern as how others see her as she is shown wearing a non flattering costume.
Genre: We can tell that this is a romantic comedy as we are told from the start that she has an interest in boys as the main thing which makes her run away from the party is a friend saying a line about boys don't like girls who makes fools of themselves. She also is shown as being in a comedy as she runs through her home town dressed as a stuffed olive which will make people laugh. Some clues to the genre are that the main character is a young female common of rom coms, and that the opening scene shows us how her life is like at the beginning of the film instead of starting off a story line as we want to know about the character that we are going to see in a romantic comedy rather than seeing the consequences of actions.
Story: The story line of this film can be seen at the beginning as the main character trying to get accepted by her peers in High School. We do not know about any love interests at this point so cannot speculate that is what the film will revolve around but do understand that she has a strong interest in boys and so may see a love interest occuring. The title also gives the impression that the film will revolve around love as she says that it is to do with perfect snogging. The title is also quite comical in diversifying our idea of the movie as it tells us about someone called Angus who we perceive to be a boy love interest but which turns out in reality to be her cat.
